Nursing service is an integral part of National Trauma Center which aims to provide the high quality and satisfying nursing care in holistic way to the patients and community as per their need. The professional nurses work in an environment that encourages professionalism and expertise in providing comprehensive patient care as a key part of multidisciplinary medical team. Nursing services is to prevention of disease, promotion of health, rehabilitation of patient along with curative management role at national trauma center.

National Trauma Centre throughout its evolution into the esteemed premier institution for trauma care, has owed a lot to the Nursing department due to their direct involvement in almost all aspects of hospital quality, including comprehensive patient care, bedside medication management, and assistance with all major and minor surgeries, data collection/reporting and more. Qualified and trained nurses this center are among the first health care professionals to provide medical assistance for life saving emergencies. The core task of trauma nurses is to provide immediate and effective medical care needed to stabilize the patient in critical condition and work collaboratively with the attending physicians and surgeons to ensure continuity of care to trauma victim patients. Trauma nurses at this center also function as liaison for other major tasks through expanded role.

Nursing Administration

A nurse administrator oversees the work of other nursing officers. A nurse administrator has a broad and versatile range of role and responsibilities. Trauma administrative nurses work as health care administrators to ensure proper functioning of all hospital systems and personnel having managerial duties such as training and evaluation of staff and to ensure effectiveness of patient care. The nursing administrative responsibilities have various levels such as senior nursing administrator, senior nursing officer/ nursing supervisor, nursing officers/ ward incharges, senior nurses then staff nurses who work under the proficient guidance of nursing chief.

Objective of Nursing Department

  • To deliver Quality/Comprehensive care based on the patient’s needs.
  • To apply nursing process while providing nursing services i. e accurate assessment of illness and suffering, planning of care, implementation of care, evaluation finding and re-planning as needed.
  • To arrange staffing pattern as per need
  • To arrange adequate material resources at all times.
  • To provide Health education to the patient and patients care givers.
  • To manage the wards and nursing services in smooth way
  • To facilitate maximum comfort by way of pleasant surroundings.
  • To provide and advocate for privacy and patients right at all levels.
