Anaesthesiology Critical Care & Pain icon

As we commemorate another year of relentless service to our community, we pause to reflect on the dedication of our Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Medicine, and Pain.

The sensitivity and diligence of our Anaesthesiologists have been the backbone of our services. Their tireless efforts in Pre-Anaesthetic Check-up (PAC), Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Post-operation (POSTOP), High Dependency Unit (HDU), Operating Theatres (OT), Wards, and Outpatient Anesthesia in clinic have been invaluable.

Amid the ongoing challenges, our Anaesthesiologists have shown an unwavering commitment to patient care. Their ability to respond to crises with swift decision-making and steadfast resolve bear testament to their professionalism. The COVID-19 pandemic has been one such crisis, where our team has worked tirelessly, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

At the National Trauma Centre, our services have been designed to respond promptly to any emergency. The REDZONE, ICU, POST-OP, OT-5, ER OT for emergency cases and CR, HDU, PAC, and the entire hospital Rescue have been instrumental in achieving this. Our dedicated Human Resources have been at the forefront of this response, ensuring smooth operations and patient care.

The Resuscitation Zone, our frontline in critical care, has been pivotal in tackling the most severe cases. Our current facilities include an 8-bed HDU, an 11-bed ICU, and a 7-bed REDZONE, all equipped to provide comprehensive care.

Our future plans underscore our commitment to continual improvement. We envision a Central Monitoring system to enhance patient safety and a dedicated Pain Suite. We are also planning to expand our ICU and HDU bed capacity, and to introduce a Pain Fellowship in the future.

As we look back at the past year, we express our deepest gratitude to our Anaesthesiologists, for their indomitable spirit and exemplary service. We look forward to another year of serving our community with the same dedication and resolve.

A young, energetic team headed by a dynamic personality will continue the journey, and together, we will overcome any challenges that come our way.
